Compelling Question
How do educators determine the most effective intervention progression?
|
"Not only do teachers have learners to understand and interact with, but they also must design and manage a productive environment in which all are able to learn. One student requires a firm hand and a great deal of direction whereas another works best when left to puzzle further on his own. One student is active—tapping her pen, doodling, and rocking on her chair—even while deeply engaged whereas a second is easily distracted."

About Me
Hi! My name is Sarah McHugh. I have been teaching for the past ten years. The first five years were spent in a first grade classroom and the last five I have served as a kindergarten teacher. I am currently working at Pine Springs Preparatory Academy in Holly Springs, NC. As a lower grade teacher I have always been passionate about ensuring that my students had a strong literacy foundation before moving onto the next grade. Throughout my NC State graduate program, New Literacies and Global Learning, I have learned even more about the importance of how and when to intervene with students.
